Why South Korea?
A country of ancient temples and skyscrapers, mountains and densely populated cities, Confucian traditions and K-Pop, kimchi and coffee shops, South Korea is a place of intriguing contradictions, with one foot in the past and the other leaping into the future.
Often in the shadow of its better known neighbours, China and Japan, it can sometimes be overlooked as a travel destination. But this small country has its own unique personality, and its people are intensely proud of their history, culture and traditions. For the curious traveller, South Korea never fails to disappoint.
Even after three years living in Korea, we haven’t stopped appreciating what this country has to offer. It’s still capable of surprising us in the most unexpected ways. Did you know that Koreans are hiking mad? Countless paths criss-cross even the most obscure hills and mountains. Whether it’s stunning coastline, fantastic hiking trails, dynamic cities, deliciously spicy food, history or culture, South Korea has it covered.
